Army of the Dead is the latest Zack Snyder Zombie film, who also made the remake of "Dawn of the Dead". In this film there is a Zombie outbreak but they are able to contain the Zombies within the city of Las Vegas. One of the heroes of the initial outbreak, played by Dave Bautista, is offered a job to go back into the "Zombie infested Vegas" in order to retrieve 200 million dollars which is in a vault. He is told that if he get the money he can keep 50 million of it which he can split any way he chooses. So he assembles a team to get ready for battle!
If it seems like a pretty basic plot, it is because it basically is. That is all you really need to going into this film, other than the Zombies in this film are actually much smarter than previous Zombies films that I've seen. There is lots of blood and gore but the film is a bit long. I enjoyed the opening sequence in the Convoy, but after that I do have some issues with the next 45 minutes or so of the film. Once the team does get back inside of Vegas, it is a very fun ride however.
Overall I would strongly recommend this film but it is a Zack Snyder film, so it is of course quite long and filled with many covers songs! Some love that kind of stuff but others do not.
