Emily the Criminal stars Aubrey Plaza as Emily, a woman with a Criminal Record who can only find a job as basically an "Uber Eats" driver in order to make ends meet. She really wants to get back into Artistry but has had many challenges due to her criminal background. One day needing the hours she helps a co-worker in covering his shift. For repayment, her co-workers offers her a shady job where she can make $200 in about 20 minutes of work by providing her with a number. She decides to see what type of job it is and it ends up being a credit card scan. This organization gives people credit cards to go into stores and buy high end items such as Big Screen TVs valued at $2000, and they then receive $200 in cash. Of course, Emily is highly successful at this business and wants to learn more all the while trying to get back into doing art. The film also co-stars Theo Rossi. This isn't the easiest film to describe to get viewers excited, but this is an incredibly good film, and Plaza is an amazing Actress and really was great to see her in a completely crucial role without any humor. It is a strong Dramatic performance for her, and I really enjoyed this film. I would say this is one of the best films I've seen so far this year and could possibly end up in my Top 10 films of 2022. I highly recommend it!
