Megan is a horror film about young girl named Cady (played by Violet McGraw) who loses both of her parents in an accident and is now living with her aunt named Gemma (Allison Williams) who works for a Toy company. Gemma has created a new A.I. doll named Megan and decided to let her niece play with the doll to help Cady cope with the loss of her parents. However, Megan is a very advanced doll that can process knowledge but doesn't always know the difference between right and wrong, or life and death.
I was initially hesitant to see this film thinking it was just another "Chucky" or "Child's Play" rip-off. However, it is much more than I expected. Not only is the film scary, but it is also so much fun. I really enjoyed how Megan evolved as she gained more knowledge and her motives made sense. This is a great start to 2023 for film and horror buffs, and this is a film that I highly recommend.
