What a fun trilogy this is shaping up to be! I may have given them the same rating, but I definitely liked this one even more than 1994 and it’s got definite potential to move up to an A- on a future viewing.
It’s got a very TV, Netflix-y look to it, but even with that both films are stellar additions to the Greatest Genre (horror, of course). It confounds expectations multiple times, it’s got great characters and suspense, and the kills are absolutely BRUTAL in ways I haven’t seen in a long time. Tons of fun for horror fans. Can’t wait for 1666!
