Ma Rainey's Black Bottom stars Viola Davis as Ma Rainey a real Blues singer from the 1920's. She is from the South and is asked to come to Chicago to record an album for a Record Producer and brings her band along with her, along with her star trumpet player who is played by Chadwick Boseman (in his last role before he died). This film is based on a play and I enjoyed it greatly! The acting by both Davis and Boseman is simply amazing and I would be highly surprised if both didn't get nominated for an Oscar, but the acting was great all around. It was a great story and one of the best films of 2020.
