Shirley stars Elisabeth Moss as Shirley Jackson the famous Horror Writer of many books. The film is a fictionalized version of the Author and takes place somewhere in the 1950's I believe and centers around Shirley, her husband and two young people whom they take in their home.
I honestly thought this was going to be some sort of Horror film based on the fact that Shirley is a famous Horror Writer but it was anything but. It was mostly just about the two couple's in the house relationship and how mean and nasty Shirley apparently was as a person. I honestly found the film to be a little dry and somewhat boring in parts, personally. Not a film that I would personally recommend but the acting is good.
