Sound of Metal 2019 ★★★½
Sound of Metal stars Riz Ahmed as a punk rock drummer who begins to lose his hearing and as a recovering drug addict, feels he might start using again over the stress of his hearing loss. His girlfriend, and vocal singer of his two person band, (played by Olivia Cooke) enrolls him in a drug rehab facility for the deaf, and he must now decide whether he will start a new life living a deaf person or pay for the $60,000 surgery so he can hear again. This was a really good film. The story and acting were really good, the only small gripe I had was the loud rock music in the beginning but other than that I highly enjoyed this film.
