White Noise is Directed by Noah Baumbach and stars Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig as a married couple with a blended family. Driver's character is a College Professor named Jake and Gerwig is a Senior Citizen Aerobics Instructor named Babette. The film centers around a large chemical explosion in their town forcing the family of six to run for cover. The film is also mostly about mortality, infidelity, and secrets. Don Cheadle also co-stars as a hilarious Professor who teaches a course on Elvis Presley.
I thought the film was humorous in parts but also was kind of all-over-the-place, which made for a messy and partially confusing film. The film shifts focus from the College to the family, to the explosion and then back to the family, and there is some easiness in the constant transitions. It isn't a bad film, but far from a great one also.
