Ghostbuster: Afterlife is basically the 30 year awaited next installment in the Ghostbuster series. In this film a single mom, played by Carrie Coon is raising two kids and struggling to make ends meet. Right as she is about to be evicted from her apartment, she learns that her estranged father has just passed away and left her a house out in a small town in Oklahoma. Her kids know nothing about their Grandfather but soon learn that their Grandfather was once a Ghostbuster and was Dr. Egon Spengler! Paul Rudd also co-stars in this film as a Science Teacher.
Upon arriving at Spengler's old house they soon learn that he believed that there would be a demon coming to the small town they live in and they soon start seeing strange things happening and believe they are been targeted by a ghost.
This film isn't bad but basically felt like a bigger budget rehash of the original Ghostbusters film. They even use variations of some of the ghosts from the original film. While I did enjoy it, I didn't think it was anything too special. I would however be down for sequel to this new series.
