Kierre's Review of I Care a Lot 2021 ★★★★½

Watched Mar 02, 2021

I Care a Lot stars Rosamund Pike, as a Court Appointed Legal Guardian for elderly people when they are deemed unable to care for themselves. She however is basically a Con-Artist and has quite a scam going where she, with the help of a Doctor select elderly patients and then go before a Judge (without the Elderly person being present) and they argue that the patient is no longer able to care for themselves and the Judge appoints Rosamund's charactor as their caregiver, granting her access to their home, their bank accounts and their safety deposit boxes. After receiving the order from the Judge she then goes to the person's home and has then thrown into a Nursing Home , has them heavily sedated and doesn't allow them to make any outbound phone calls. Very cruel, right? She however makes the mistake of taking what is called a "Cherry" or someone who is wealthy, with no family and lives alone, thinking this person, played by Dianne Wiest, is an easy mark. However she gets far more than she bargained for in this situation, as this person may not be who she seems.

I have to say, that I greatly enjoyed this film. I found it be a very funny, nasty and entertaining thriller. The film was highly unpredictable with many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The acting was great especially from Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage, and it is a film that I plan on watching again soon. I strongly recommend.
