Kierre's Review of No Sudden Move 2021 ★★★

Watched Jul 02, 2021

No Sudden Move is the latest film directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars an All-Star cast including Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Brendan Fraser, and Kieran Culkin. This a heist film of sorts set in the 1950's. Three men who don't know each other, Cheadle, del Toro, and Culkin are hired to do a job of kidnapping a family and forcing the husband of the family to go to his job and steal a document from his boss.

This is really all that I am going to say about the plot as stating anymore would give too much away. This is a film that has so many twists and turns and double-crossing that you are left a bit confused by the end. While I did enjoy it overall, I felt the film had a bit too many twists and I'm also getting tired of the way Soderbergh always either uses a Wide Angle Lens or iphone to shoot all of his movies now. This film has a very distorted appearance that isn't always pleasant to watch.
