Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a reboot version of the extremely popular video game. There is no Milla Jovovich as Alice in this film however; instead they bring in a group new actors and the entire film takes place over one night when an outbreak has spread throughout Raccoon City and the City is essentially locked down for containment. The outbreak is turning people into both Zombies as well as Monsters and it is up to a group of Police officers and one of the officers' sister to investigate what caused the outbreak and who is responsible for it.
I personally own the original series of the "Resident Evil"; although I must admit I've yet to watch all of them. I know I've seen at least half of them and enjoyed the ones I've seen so far. Those films in my opinion were far more Action than Horror however. I'm an Action Junkie so I didn't mind it, but it was refreshing to see a new version of Resident Evil that was far more Horror but also had lots action as well. I think this film was also more closely related to the actual game, so that was a huge plus as well. I really enjoyed this film and look forward to the next chapter as well.
