12 Hour Shift 2020 ★★★★
This was a lot of fun! I loved Angela Bettis in MAY, and it was great to see her tear into another great lead role like that. Here she plays a nurse named Mandy who makes Nurse Ratched look like a saint. Her side gig is acting as part of a complex black-market organ trading operation, and the film is about one very long night when just about everything that could go wrong with a kidney transplant, does. The film is primarily an eccentric dark comedy, and it excels at this; with multiple storylines reaching boiling points at the same time, you could just about add “screwball” to that description as well. It perhaps gets a little TOO over-the-top and threatens to lose control in the final third, but I still thoroughly enjoyed myself.
