An engagingly oddball dark comedy about a struggling filmmaking in Memphis, Tennessee trying to make ends meet while financing his own film.
Memphis is one of my favorite places on Earth, it has such a rich history especially if you’re a music fan (as I am), so just getting to see Memphis on screen was a plus for me.
Thankfully, that’s not where the positive attributes end. While definitely operating with a low budget, the film has personality, style, and is frequently laugh-out-loud funny. I liked the TWIN PEAKS/REPO MAN/MYSTERY TRAIN vibe it’s going for and while it pulls from many influences, it does have its own flavor.
