Kierre's Review of Ambulance 2022 ★★★

Watched May 05, 2022

Ambulance is a film Directed by Michael Bay and staring Jake Gyllenhaal (as Danny Sharp) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as Will Sharp) as two adapted brothers who were raised by a Criminal father but both boys went in different directions as they became adults. Danny followed in his father's footsteps and became involved in a life of crime, including bank robbery, whereas Will became a Solider who recently retired from the Military. Will is married with a child and is out of work, but his wife needs an expensive medical procedure and so he turns to Danny for help, who offers Will millions if he helps him, and his crew rob a bank. Of course the robbery doesn't go as planned and in the middle of a scuffle with the police, Will accidentally shoots and injures a cop. The injured police officer is put inside an Ambulance and Danny and Will hijack the Ambulance leading the Police on a case. The film also stars Eiza González as an EMT who also inside the Ambulance and trying to save the Police Officer's life. I

found this film to be a action-packed thrill ride! The plot is pretty simple and about 90% of the film takes place inside the Ambulance but it was very entertaining. The acting and action was great, especially during the bank robbery scene and I was on the edge of my seat for a good part of the film. It is a bit long and I pretty much predicted exactly how the film would end, but overall, it was fun to see a fast-paced action film that didn't involve Superheroes for a change.
