This movie is so much fun!
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent stars Nicolas Cage, who is essentially playing a Caricature version of himself. He is running low of money and just lost on out a movie role when his Agent (played by Neil Patrick Harris) offers him a gig attending a Birthday Party for 1 million Dollars. The party is being thrown by one his biggest fans, Javi Gutierrez (Pedro Pascal) who invites Cage to come stay with him at his compound in Spain. Upon arriving, Cage and Javi really hit off and began working on making a film together. However soon Cage is approached by two agents, played by Tiffany Haddish and Ike Barinholtz, and they inform Cage that Javi is being investigated in the kidnapping of a girl for Political reasons. The Agents want Cage to be a spy for them and help them find out where the girl is being held captive. This movie is so much fun! It has great humor as well as some good action. This was one of Cage's most comedic roles in quite some time and the chemistry with him and Pascal was great also. This is the kind of film where I would welcome a sequel. It is far from perfect, but I greatly enjoyed it throughout! At just under 2 hours runtime, I came away wanting more! It is one that I strongly recommend!
